Biography

Representative Clyde Evans is currently serving in his third term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 87th House District, which includes Gallia, Jackson and Vinton counties and portions of Lawrence and Ross counties.

Prior to becoming an elected official, Representative Evans spent the majority of his time and career in education, working as a teacher, school counselor and a principal in the Ohio public school system. Following his service in primary and secondary education, Representative Evans moved on to post-secondary education where he filled four vice- president positions and the provost position at the University of Rio Grande.

Between his multiple tenures at the University of Rio Grande, Representative Evans served in public school administration and directed a project for the United States Sports Academy in Saudi Arabia.

Representative Evans knows that increasing the level of education of Ohio's students is essential to the future success of our state and that by continuing to invest in education we are benefiting not only our students but the future of our state's economy as well.

Representative Evans received a bachelor's degree from Union College, a master's degree from Eastern Kentucky University and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi. He currently resides in Rio Grande in Gallia County with his wife.
