Clyde Evans is seeking election to the 17th Ohio Senate District so he can help create new jobs, improve our schools and work to keep taxes low.
Jobs
Clyde Evans believes that rebuilding our economy starts at home by fighting government waste, protecting Ohio jobs and cutting job-killing government red tape. He helped pass a $2 billion plan to invest in high-tech research, build and protect highways and bridges and help local communities attract new jobs. He is currently working to expand broadband into rural areas, so that southern Ohio businesses can take full advantage of the internet.
Education
The new global communication, technical and service era depends on a skilled work force, information technology and creative thinking. Rep. Evans will work to help all students of every age develop the skills they need to function in our new global economy.
Because researchers consistently find that children crystallize learning attitudes by the age of 3 ½, we must find ways to engage them and their parents at an early age. On the other end we must create a fluid transition to higher forms of education.
Education in Ohio will be no better than the quality of its teachers. Clyde Evans helped write legislation that developed educator standards for our schools. He will support legislation that will entice talented teachers into the profession.
Taxes
Rep. Evans is proud to have voted for the 21 per cent reduction in the state income tax, so that Ohio families can keep more of their hard-earned dollars for their own needs, instead of sending it to be wasted by bureaucrats in Columbus or Washington.
