Primary Mission
Clyde Evans is seeking re-election to the 87th House District to enhance
quality of life for the people of the 87th House District by supporting
legislation that will increase Ohio jobs, and more specifically his
district. He will support legislation that will strengthen primary and
secondary education, while making vocational, technical and higher
education more accessible to his constituents.
Job Development
Clyde Evans believes that rebuilding our economy starts at home by
fighting government waste, protecting Ohio jobs, cutting job-killing
government red tape, and fighting frivolous lawsuits that cost jobs and
drive up the cost of health care. He helped pass a $2 billion plan to
invest in high-tech research, build and protect highways and bridges, and
help local communities attract new jobs.
Clyde Evans pledges to work in a bi-partisan fashion with the Governor to
pass legislation that will create a robust business climate, generating
job for Ohio citizens.
Education
The new global communication, technical and service era is dependent on
sophisticated data, information and creative thinking. The only jobs that
will support an adequate living will require some kind of skill. Clyde
Evans will work with the Governor to find ways to make education relevant
to our students, while helping them develop the creativity to understand
and function in our new global economy.
Because the researchers consistently find that children crystallize
learning attitudes by the age of 3 ½, we must find ways to engage them and
their parents at an early age. On the other end we must create a fluid
transition to higher forms of education.
Education in Ohio will be no better than the quality of its teachers.
Clyde Evans wrote legislation that developed educator standards for our
schools. He will support legislation that will entice talented teachers
into the profession.
Clyde Evans will support the Governor's initiatives to find resources that
will provide every child with a thorough and efficient education
regardless of the variance of local wealth.
Energy
Clyde Evans has voted for and supported legislation that has expanded oil
production in Ohio, while requiring the utilities to produce 25 percent of
its energy through renewable and advanced energy by 2025. He also has
supported legislation that will provide a steady, consistent energy cost
to all Ohioans, while allowing for a free market option. Paid for by the Committee to Re-Elect Clyde
